Default winter silver...and no blue knuckles

You guys are nuts going out in this kind of weather to dig up coins. I just did a deal with one of my banjo customers....sent him an old banjo rim that I had laying here...for the following:

Walking Liberty halves; 42s,29d,42,45s,43s
Barber half: 13s
Barber dimes:05s,06s,09o,10,11s,12s,13s,13s,14s,15s,05s,0 6s,09o,10,11s,12s
Barber quarter: 1899
Standing lib quarter: 1930-s
seated lib dimes:1876 x 2, 1886,
merc dimes:23, 36-p,36-s, 39-s,
half-dimes: 1853, 1857

I got a little "boot" too...I'll get to let these slide through my fingers probably by saturday. Sure beats diggin' and gettin' chapped cheeks

Wyatt

Way to go Wyatt. That is what I call a sweet deal and you stayed warm making it.

It was a good deal for me...because the banjo parts won't appreciate in value....and the coins will. One of the half dimes, and two of the barber dimes (1913-s x 2)...are better dates. The walkers , the barber half, and mercs are all duplicates, but I don't have many barber dimes. I might have to get a little book for 'em now....yeah right...there's like a million different barber dimes.

I have done more trading in the recent past than I ever have before....and doing OK too. I traded the original 4 string neck off the same banjo...to the same guy...for a set of American silver eagles in a Dansco album.

Look at this group of goodies I just won on eBay. That Barber half was just too sweet to pass up. If I sell off the rest of the crap....I'll have about 20 bucks in the Barber half in VF-EF. The lowest FMV price on numismedia for a 1912, 13, or 15....of any mint....in VF is 78 dollars. I'm not sure of the date. It'll be a surprise. Maybe it'll be a 1915 philly.....and a 400 dollar coin....or not. There are some indian head cents in this lot too that are hard to see in the scan without playing with the brightness and contrast.

Stuff like this is why I work....everybody has to have a vise.....and this is mine. I love old coins enough to crawl around on my hands and knees all summer looking for them....and this is easier. Either way....it's way better than being a crack head or a drunk.

Wyatt
