Whites Classic 5ID for ACE 250 Price

Friends,

Not to beat a "dead horse" but I have to ask another question to narrow down my purchase.

The ACE 250 Pro is $297 and the Whites Classic 5ID is $349. Kellyco is offering to sell me the Whites Classic 5ID for $299.

The more I hear about the ACE 250 I like. I looked closely at the settings and I like the mode buttons for the type of target I would be looking for.

What would be the consensus of people with experience with both the Whites Classic 5ID and ACE 250?

The ace 250 is around $212.00 without tax and shipping...shop around first...but if it is your first, i'd go with the ace...just my thoughts about it...

buy the ace and get a pinpointer using hte difference..
(find enuf clad with the ace to get the pinpointer)

I realized the ACE 250 I was looking at is called ACE 250 "Pro" this is a "Kelly co" comment because they include a bigger coil.

I am bidding on a couple of ACE 250's on eBay.

One this I thought about is why do the classic Whites have the big control box but ACE and others have the small box right on the handle? I was reading MineLab's new designed and it rang a bell.

MineLab stated they redesigned their detectors. They use to use analog circuitry but now use a digital design. When I look at the Whites as they go up in price the big component box is gone, replaced with a small one right on the handle. Is this an indication of a better design or a move from analog to digital circuitry? Digital performs faster than analog just as our cell phones work better now that they are digital vs. the old clunky analog phones back in the early 90's

Just a thought, but at least now I am settled. I will buy the ACE 250.
