:D

Hi All,
My name is Mike Hardy and I live in Bobtown, PA. I started detecting in 1975 so compared to some of you I am still a rookie. I have made some nice findssince I started. I use a White's Spectru XLT and my favorite detecting type is Old Homesteads. I also enjoy coin shooting on school playgrounds and parks. I host a web site if anyone would be interested.... http://treasureseekers3.tripod.com/ this is our club site and I also have a personal site http://michaelhardy_2.tripod.com/los...und/index.html I have added this site to my favorites so I can visit often...

Welcome to the TQ community forums Mike.

Care to tell the TQ members here about the cache you found?

Default Cache of silver coins

Hi All and thanks for the welcome. Gregory ask me to elaborate on the cache of silver that I found. It was found with my Spectrum xlt and was burried about 7-8inches down, in an old mason jar. It was found in the back yard of the home where I was raised. When I was young, late 50's and 60's my father collected coins and would hide them in our basement. He had several different hiding places. When we, (his four sons) would find them, he would find a new place to hide them. Sometimes we would sneek a few coins and go to the candy store...I think the cache belonged to my dad and that he burried it there. It was beneath a Maple tree in the yard. I cannot confirm this because my father is now 80 years old and has been suffering with Alztimers for several years now. However, thinking that the coins were my dad's makes them even more special to me...In 1985, a flood of the Monongahela River destroyed the house and several others. The houses were torn down and those who lost their homes move away...I still detect in the area and have found some other coins, but nothing can compare to the cache. Thanks Dad, I Love You...
Mike
