Default Uncovered Finds and with my "new" Garrett GTXa 500

I purchase a used GTXa 550 (not 500 as the title shows) on eBay. These sell for over $450. I paid $230 with shipping. It looks brand new and still has all the stickers on it.

I took it outside where the ground is still frozen solid here in Michigan. On the first patch of lawn it rang up quarters and fifty cent pieces. But without breaking out an ice pick I will have to wait for the thaw to find out the real deal.

I ended up selling my new ACE 250 (same price I paid for it) on eBay when I won the bid on this GTXa. I can't be happier with it. It is supposed to have 12 inch depth and yes yes even volume control.

Happy hunting.

Regards,
Patrick

I am heading to Sand Key Flordia in a couple of weeks and plan to hit the beach. I tried contacting Northwest about taking the detector as a carry on or check it and they were not very clear.

They then sent a NSA link for items that could be checked in your baggage and carried on. The metal detector was not listed, but it did say you could check the following items in your luggage.

Guns, Bow and Arrows, Spears, Knifes, Tools.

So I figure a metal detector is less harmless than a spear so I should be good to go.

I lent my Garrett to a friend when his machine went bad and he told me he found coins at 12 to 14 inches deep in Florida.
Good luck when the ground softens up. I hope they are all quarters and 50 cent pieces.
I plan on selling my Garrett GTAX400 and my Whites Eagle Pro rather soon.

I hope some of your good luck comes my way when I do.
