Default What were your best finds?

I have looked at a lot of finds online and many seem so-so or average, even have many years of hunting. I wanted to find out what folks considered their "best finds."

I went out yesterday for the first time. The ground is frozen solid but the best find so far for me was a relaxing couple of hours away from cares of the day. I really felt like walking around detecting was like a "Zen" moment.

I think more so that the actual find, the hunt it was makes this fun.

A best find is one that excites the most. The value of the find can play a role of course but as far as i'm concerned it's the satisfaction of finding something unexpected or something nice uncovered in difficult conditions that gets my pulse pumping. It's the anticipation of something better that keeps me hunting. HH Bill

I have to agree with the rest of the posters ,, A great find does not need to have a high dollar value .

I have always found the most enjoyment from finds that have come from a good course of research,, there is nothing more satisfying than to be rewarded for the work that was put in before the hunt.

Now that reward is much sweeter when you find something valuable as a result of the research ,, Like this little trinket !!

The half dollar is for size reference .

I won't get rich off my best/favorite find, but mine has to be the 1909 Barber Dime and a 1903 Indian Head Penny. Both were my first silver and first IH penny, both were found on the same day and in the same hole. The value is priceless to me.

Well, I have only been out a few times in the last few months, new to this but very tied to my motel job, 24/6 I think my best find has been the excitement of my granddaughter, 7, who loves to go with me and dig in the ground. Her face lights up at a bottle cap, not tabs anymore, ha ha, but anything else, a ball point pen the other day even. Also went to the park with her, another little boy got hooked very quickly, I told him that he could save enough in cans to buy a small one like mine and have lots of fun with it, his eyes were still sparkling when his mom took him away. He found a penny while using the machine. These are the things that are priceless to me, found 6 pennies and nickel that day, one of which I gave to him.
