Default Md'ing Around Metal Poles

Is it possible? Oviously everytime I go around one it starts beeping and cannot tell if there are coins there or not. What I usually do is dig around them anyways and at times it's worked out but I wanted to see if any of you had a tip on detecting around these metal poles that have worked for you? I have a whires dfx metal detector. thanks in advance.

You can turn down your preamp gain and the AC sensitivity. That might help. What I do is put on my real small coil, for me it helps a lot.

The SunRay X-1 probe can work good for this.. you can't get much depth, but you can get closer to the pole for surface or near-surface finds.

boobieinPa, what size coil do you use? 5"?

I have all the Whites coils for the DFX, but when I am near metallic poles I switch to the DFX5.3 (6x6) Eclipse Search Coil. That is usually under the metallic bleachers, it lets me get extremely close to them.

You are correct in your statement detectorbase. I also use the SunRay to get in super close.
