I just received full permission to search a possibly HOT site.
It was a very popular stop on an old train route. People from the city would picnic there in the 1890's..... It only covers around 25 acres....

It's quite a ways from my house. I will probably have to make it an overnighter at the minimum.

That is two locations occupied since before the turn of the century confirmed for me to search. Both are big enough I could spend all summer just trying to cover them. Found it from a conversation between colleagues here at work...
Just goes to show, pays to listen.

UPS hasn't delivered it yet--Ebay purchase..
Whites Classic II still in the box.... Old style, but it should do for a while.

Old style worked quite well for me for many years !There are thouse who still swear by the old model detectors.Alot of bells and whistles dosent nessisarily make a difference ! Learn your machine and you will do fine !

That's what I read before I purchased. For the price I think I will be happy. I did a lot of reading on older detectors before bidding.

Hi Jeff. Sounds like you are on the right track to some great finds. It definately pays to listen around to when people are talking. People will talk about areas that no longer look anything like they did 50 years ago and they turn out to be great spots to hunt. I used an older Whites detector for many years with alot of success so you will do well with your detector. Have fun and hope to see some great finds posted here.
