Default McDill AFB

Has anyone every hunted the beach on McDill AFB? Ill be there for a few weeks so i was wondering if i have to find somewhere other than on base. Anyone in the area?

I used to go there all the time, but through work, so i wasn't there for that,but if you can get in there i sure would try...i can't get in on my personnal time....good luck...

I used to go there years ago, but it was to dig agatized coral (geodes). When I was there, civilians couldn't enter the bay area by the AFB. There is a park north of McDill called Jules Verne Park on the bay and they used to let us dig the coral. Other than that, you may be going to St Pete beach.

Maybe i should of ask this question first, if you are in the service or retired and have I.D. you can get in, and there is a beach through the base to the bay and there is a good restraunt there also...good luck....
