The first pic is from my two hour Saturday football field hunt......$3.69 in clad plus a dog vaccination tag and the Hot Wheels 2002 "Zotic" sports car. On Sunday Sue and I made another trip to the farmers market field we've been hunting and again the clad was abundant to say the least. Together in two and a half hours we dug 93 coins worth $17.27 Totals for Sunday were almost identical to last Sunday's hunt at the same field...99 coins worth $17.31. There's still more ground to cover so we'll be returning again next time out. Sue dug the Minnie Mouse pin which could be a souvenir of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Thanks Dave.....it was definitely an oddity. Hopefully when we go back again next weekend we can match those totals again.
This particular car is one of the better ones, condition wise, that I've found this year. They always ring up as a clad quarter.
No Mike the soil here is the usual dark brown color, but when I ground balance the AT Max or Pro the number ends up around 91-93 indicating a high iron content. This is most likely what gives the coins the orange color.
