BIG ring and coinstar hoard

Still not a lot to report from the beach this year - no gold after countless hours in the water. I did pull a really big ring that had me buzzing though. Turns out it's not silver or gold - but it's a beautiful ring. Inscription inside says "May God hold you in the palm of his hand". I needed that!
THEN on a recent trip to the store I checked the coinstar on the way in - nothing. On the way out just walking by I saw coins. I was surprised to see the till almost full! Tally was 15 quarters (14 Canadian and 1 US), one penny and a washer. No silver but thats ok - first coinstar finds for me in a long time!

That is a nice big ring. Good find even if not silver or gold.
Coinstar was a foreign affair it looks like. Good haul there though. You’ll now have to pay tax to the Coinstar King.

After all the Canadian quarters I bet ya were glad to see that washer.
That ring looked like a killer, I bet initially ya were wettin' yourself.
Then just as suddenly ya dried up again.

That's life.

When that ring was clanking around in my scoop I thought "FINALLY"! I got to spend a couple hours fantasizing that it was white gold or silver. But I quick surmised when I got home that it was a bit too light. Curious what the base metal is. Specific gravity is close to that of copper. The plating is too shiny for silver though. Never heard of rhodium plating over copper. Maybe my jeweler friend will have some ideas.
