Been a busy time at work this year.I Finished the repaint on the AC130 and the SR71 aircrafts. Painting is also in work on the A10. I will post better pictures after completing the paint on the A10.￼￼￼￼￼
You are doing some great paint jobs. Planes and jets are all looing good. I sure wish when I was there I could have seen the museum. Next time I guess. I have always loved the sleek look of the SR71's.
The red stripes found on some SR-71s are there to prevent maintenance workers from damaging the skin of the aircraft. The curved skin near the center of the fuselage is thin and delicate. There is no support underneath with exception of
Only time I saw one was at Edwards AFB for a demo I guess. On the tarmac the pilot held the brakes and said he turned power up to 70%. Melted tarmac behind it a couple feet deep. I was a visitor then ( visiting brother) and I wasn’t allowed to have a camera with me for that. Back in the late 70’s.
