Well, spot one: no detecting attempts made---SUV was assaulted by swarms of black flies, on to spot 2. Fewer black flies. Made a valiant attempt at treasure recovery. Started by popping a Canadian dime...then a few pennies. another dime. Then the last recovery a gem..... a small 1 inch or so heart shaped lock. Looks like its brass.........No returnables today for the Sultan of scrounge (cheap *(%^&*^)....Hot,dusty,and miserable just a wonderful time detecting.....No fair weather detecting here!! The total take-2d,4p and the heart shaped gizmo and 4 pull tabs.

We need some hardcore detectorists shirts?? whose got the shirt business?

    Ok I need a coke.

Go GITTUM Mich. I know it's hotter down your way for sure, and it's almost 90 here. Our blackflies have all been cooked now and the skeeters are hiding in the underbrush. If i go hunting on my days off it will be in the water. Don't get as much, but boy it sure feels better doing it.;):D

Those black flies are terrible. They bite hard and leave welts. Bug spray doesn't seem to phase em either. Way to tough it out.

Rich...cool story, I'm beating the heat by only hunting in the water here until further notice...have not been to a park since just before Memorial Day...quite a few local beaches (read miles of beach to go) to cover until I find more good stuff...it was in the low 100's heat index this past weekend and Tim (TCrews) and myself went to Pensacola Beach...he told me the water temps were in the 80's but to me with the temperatures rising, it felt like I was in Lake Michigan and boy did it feel good...too bad it was a yellow flag condition and the waves were beating me up...

LFA--- fun is NOT shopping. I hate it...but, I do get to buy some fun things tomorrow. However, Ill be changing the oil first thing tomorrow (no need to be laying on concrete at 100 deg.)..Rest up, put on my hippie wardrobe (keeps the kids away) and most old people too. Put on my camelback and wander out into the desert heat (there is no desert in this area but it sounds good).... to find an elusive something or other? And for good visual effect, Im reading Steven Tylers book... so it goes with the threads!...
