Excal replacement cables

Has anyone replace the cables on their excal? Mine are rotten and I dont want to pay minelab $300.00 to do it, if I dont have to.

I haven't yet...knock wood... someone here may have alternative ideas... but if still under warranty back it goes... maybe homefire will chime in on this.

I did, but it is a PITA and the possibilities of screwing up are many. Fork out the $300 or sell it and buy a new one. You will get the $300 back in a ring or two;)

One other thing. Always use treat your cables with a protectant from the ozone or sun. I always washed my detector with fresh water but it wasnt enough. Treating the cables after each use would have saved me some big bucks!
