A group of us decided to go to Galveston, Texas on Sat. 4/24/10. There were 4 of us which included myself - Phantom - Txcoindigger and DirtyHarry. We all met up at Stewart Beach at 6:30 am. We searched there for a little while and then moved to Appfel Park. We ran into Robert a local Detectorist while there. After Phantom and I (Txcoindigger already had one) decided to buy a Season Beach Access Pass which is good for all of Galveston's Beaches till 12/31/10 we decided to head to one of those Pocket Parks at the West End of Galveston. Txcoindigger ended up being the Lucky One on this trip by finding a ring at the pocket park. I detected for almost 6 hours and have included photos of my finds.

Txcoindigger video taped our excursion and will be placing it on You Tube after he gets it edited to his liking.
Go to http://www.YouTube.com and then enter TXcoindigger in the search box - you will be taken to all the interesting videos he has done on metal detecting.

    Thanks

Had a blast Phantom, and I tried seeing if some paper clips would stick to the rock and they wouldn't so the solid mass is metal of some kind, cause magnets do stick to it. I'm almost tempted to try and split it or knock some crud off with a hammer and chisel. I'll let you know what I decide or the outcome.

I forgot to mention my body is sore as all get out. I am definitely out of shape.

    Hey Guy
Really enjoyed the hunt. Just got the video up and posted.
DiggerDun (DirtyHarry changed his name) got lucky and found a 925 ring at the last beach we went to.
It was a great day and I enjoyed hunting with you guys. Hope we can do it again soon.

Here is another link to the video.

I'm impressed that you dug up that much metal over the course of 6 hours and had a great time doing it. Gold will come because you have that great virtue which is essential in all good pirates - PERSERVERANCE!:bthumb::bthumb::bthumb:

    Good Hunting to You, :pcool:
