fossil filled rock

    Wish i would have grabbed more of this. 20170822_082628.jpg full of fossils 20170822_083359.jpg another Mississippi river island find 20170822_082704.jpg only ran into in one area while directional boring, the majority was a gray limestone.

    Very cool. I love fossil rocks and I wish I knew more about them. Ohio's statehouse is built from some local limestone that is full of fossils. I have worked on it a couple times over the years and the fossils made my job fun!

    The ones I can see the most look like crinoids. Nice finds.

    Nice fossil rock. I have one like that too found over here on the West side. I have always loved fossils but never learned much about them. I just like to look at them. We have a place we can get some and I posted pictures here a long time ago. All plant fossils but it is fun to go dig out the rocks, split them and see what no one has ever see before you. I have a bunch of plant ones, all leaves I think.
