Got out yesterday for a few hours to a couple of parks and a church lot that I have not hunted before. I am pretty picky anymore about how many holes I dig. It is harder and harder to get up and down so I don't dig as many iffy signals as I once dug. Anyway there are a few finds to share - nothing great - but an interesting little copper bracelet marked "solid copper". Just the marking I wanted to see :). It has little pictures of arrows, arrowheads, and thunderbirds on it. I thought it may be a girl scout thing but I'm not sure. Got it out of the ground without even a scratch!

It's good that you still get out even if you're digging less holes. I'm 71 now and haven't dug zinc signals for the last 7-8 years to cut down on the number of times I have to get up and down.

I'm moving in on 65 - good for you keeping at it. I hope I can still be digging at 75 or so.

Hey, solid is better than plated even if it is copper. A nice find for sure. At 68 I too am getting more picky about the signals I will or will not dig. (y):D

Nice finds. I spend plenty of time sitting on the ground when I detect. Those deep knee bends get to me to. avoid the heat.

Good finds. I am closing in on 47 and I hate digging rotten zinc pennies. The only reason I dig them is that i do not want to go back at 2 in the morning just so i can get some sleep. 93 here today. Supposed to be 102 on Monday. Here we go. Ought to be a good year for wildfires.

Well I'm 66 and I don't know if I'm digging less holes but with these new fangled machines, I find myself digging DEEPER HOLES.
    Congrats on the bracelet.

Really cool bracelet....at 54 (in july) and 2 knee clean-ups and yearly lube up shots...is one of the main reasons I bought the CTX....i can see what is under the coil before I dig....saves a lot of up and down time.....im am still in the learning curve of the machine, so as I get better with it I should be able to limit my dig to the good stuff.....like Artie, I sleep better knowing I didn't pass over a double eagle

Can I add that both theIH's I dug this week rang up on the F75 in the low to mid 60's just like a zinc.

I'm in somewhat the same boat - had two knee cleanups - the last being 20 years ago. My right knee is going to need replaced sometime. The damage is resonating into my hip and lower back but it still doesn't keep me from digging. I also am in the learning curve with the XP Deus. It's extreme light weight will extend my years metal detecting immeasurably and it does a pretty good job of keeping me from digging trash. Sometimes you just get those odd signals and you have to see what's down there. I am retiring in 11 months and look forward to the time to detect. Even getting out 2 or 3 days in a row seems to make a difference in knowing what you are hearing through the headphones. Every time I don't get out for a month it is like starting over!
