Here is a screenshot of a 1895 Indian Head Cent I found today...

Here is a screenshot of the Indian Head and the Nail that was 2 inches above it ...

As you can see the CTX-3030 shows both targets, the Crosshair is a good target,
the red diamond in the bottom corner is the Iron target.

I have seen up to 4 targets at the same time on the screen, in that case there was
two crosshairs and two diamonds.

This target has been overlooked for decades due to the masking of the nail, I have been over this ground for over two years with V3i, VX3, MXT, DFX, AT Pro, Vaquero and many others.
Sure, I could just dig it all, but this park goes back to the late 1800's and is trashy as they get.

I know you prolly think I am am showing off..lol, maybe I am just a little bit, but it is really just that I am excited to have the opportunity to have such a capable machine, and I like to share good experiences with others.

Hope this helps others understand the "De-Masking" capabilities of the Minelab CTX-3030 :)

I should also point out that the white area is the "Accept" area for "VDI" and the blue/grey region is the discriminated area that shows the target but muted audio..... exactly opposite working mode of the ATPro Iron Audio feature.

There is a kind of reverse psychology at work here.... my AT Pro's Iron Audio would persuade NOT to dig, but the CTX Visual display clearly lets me "see" that there is two targets and the Iron Target is muted.

I like my ATP.... but the way the CTX works is most appealing to me.

WTG SK8. Thanks for sharing how another machine works out there. Seems we don't get much info on newer models here and they are always welcome. You are one of a few here that like to get a lot of different machines and try them out. That minelab has my interest up now.

A friend of mine that I detect with is going crazy for CTX. He already has a MineLab. For me, I have a hard enough time understanding my cellphone, let alone the CTX. Good luck and have a blast with it.

saw a guy in the water with it. Thought at first it was a newbie with a land detector. I'm glad it was not. I hope no one would be dumb enough.

I talked to the guy for a while and he was happy with the machine. I might get it in the future. I know my machines well and with what I see it's a pain to program.

I am interested to see some reviews. If I get it I might sell my dfx and escal to get it and would have 2 machines in one. Maybe by christmas not sure.

very nice!! I don't get on here much anymore and haven't been detecting much lately with my ETrac.... but your screenshots may have just given me the fever!! I'd really like to own that machine, and will someday (when I can find a cheap used one).... hopefully no one in my area gets one before I do and takes all the god targets ;)
