I decided to do some metal detecting in my own yard, since my detector wasn't working properly, and I didn't get it sent back today. I found a quarter, a penny, and a 1971 Hot Wheels Mongoose car. I have been here for over 16 yrs and the house and neighborhood was built about 6 yrs before that in 1990. I thought that this was all farmland before that, but there is an older neighborhood next to this one, so I guess someone came over to the field to play with their cars. My 47 yr old brother would have been 6 at that time, and playing with his Matchbox and Hot Wheels about that time...I looked it up, and if it was in good shape, it would be worth about $125....Oh my, I know my brother is sick that my Mom sold them in a yard sale years ago...lol....

Then I went to a playground in a nearby town, and found $1.79 in about an hour...the great thing was, that there was very little digging....Most of the coins were on the surface below a few wood chips and my Pro Pointer went right to the coins, and all I had to do was pick them up! $1.79 more than I had an hour before that....to go toward my next detector...And I found a button that appears to be pretty old, because it is worn thin...It may not be, but it looks like it is. HH:)

It sounds like the issues your detector was having may have been the ground conditions. You had a great hunt for an hour.

    That's a pretty good haul for an hours worth. aswally.gif aswally.gif aswally.gif
The Pro pointer makes short work in bark chip tot lots.
As an experiment time yourself without the PP, should take around 1m 30s,
then try with the PP should take within 30 seconds.
Ya should try and find more tot lots that'll get your new detector quicker. 66.gif 66.gif 66.gif 66.gif
