Just a simple answer...

That's all I'm lookin for. So here's my question. "Is the Tesoro Compadre worth a hoot in highly mineralized sandy soil such as we have here in New Mexico or do I need to look at some other brand or model"? I'll be using it around local parks, houses, and such searching for coins. The detector I buy will be my first. Thanks in advance for your thoughts, experiences, and comments. Good day and happy hunting to all.

I too would say pick another machine. ground balance and availability of a DD coil would be a must in your area I would think.
