Have never used a pinpointer but saw a couple being used this summer so I thought I would get one. Did not know what to expect but overall I am glad I got this product. Whites Bullseye

Sounds like you are enjoying the pinpointer! I will be getting one soon myself.

Get some pictures posted, we will be looking forward to them, Beale.

I don't have a pinpointer yet, but I think I need one. So far I've made some massive holes in the yard, and dug a 2 ft. hole the other day to get a 1973 license plate out from under about a ft. of earth in my friends yard... not sure a pinpointer would have helped with that one, but maybe it can help me from forming a new grand canyon here in Florida!! lol!!

Oh Ali - I had to laugh. I remember holes like that! A friend of mine was walking through our back field the other day and asked whether we'd always had a problem with moles - I looked and the holes were all mine. The funny thing was, I'd dug almost perfect 2 foot round holes, and then the grass all died and now we look as if we've been hit with hundreds of little crop circles. But since I started using my ACE, my holes are down to 2" and the grass all seems to be surviving that:icon_tong.

To be honest one of the best pinpointer ive had is a Little Wizzard for about $10.00. It went 2" or so and never gave me feed back. Its used for woodworking. I have a DFX so the BEST ive used is the DX-1. Most people i know have had problems with the bullseye, but then they use them to death. The vibrapro is a great little pinpointer, but does give me feedback. The DX-1 turns off the coil and acts as a one inch coil... no feedback.

Bullseye, go another way.

I bought a Bullseye II pinpointer from whites for $99.00. One problem with the pinpointer is the connections to the 9v battery bend if dropped. I don't mean dropped off a cliff but just from the car seat to the floor of the car will do it. The battery contact will bend inward away from the battery box loosing contact with the battery. The fix is to take the thing apart and reposition the battery contact and refasten the cover using the five screws. The design flaw is the use of a cheaper folded metal battery terminal soldered to the circuit board that is not supported against bending rather than make a spring type connection like in flashlights and many other devices. The second problem as listed many times in the forums is the weak on off switch on the Bullseyes side. Mine just started this intermittent on off problem. I think I need to design another way to turn the unit on and off. This unit is only 6 mos old. I contacted whites sales dept by email and did not recieve a response. I ususlly don't bash products but the fact whites could not respond to my email I felt better warning others off. If the Bullseye is such a great unit they wouldn't be giving them away. I would suggest staying away from this poorly designed pinpointer.

My Durable BullsEye Pinpointer

I received one of those free BullsEye Pinpointers when I bought my V3.
I have dropped it many times, sit on it, and stepped on it at least once. And it keeps on trucking. I am very pleased with it and if I ever need another one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
