#1
This is the setup I am using for coins and relics on my E-Trac. I am new to the E-trac:banghead:

Threshold 25 - 28
Volume Limit 28
Volume Gain 28
Response smooth
Tone ID Multi
Ton id sounds Conduct Coins, Ferrous for Relic
Variability 25
Limits 30
Threshold pitch 15
Sensitivity Auto
Recovery deep on
Recovery fast off
Trash Density Depends
Ground Difficult

Are these settings OK?

I wouldn't mind being new to the E-Trac, would mean I have one ! As it is, I've never used one but I do have an SE and I know they're both different machines, but just a couple of observations I have.

Threshold settings seem high, I don't know the Threshold range the E-Trac has but is that barely audible?

I don't use Auto Sens. unless I have to for stability, you may lose some depth with it.

Like I said, I don't know the E-trac but I'm sure someone will chime in who does. Let us know how you like it!

Hi I Just started using my new E-trac also and my fist find was great. i went back to the same site and I get a lot of good hits but when i pin point there seems to be :rocketwho and I come up with nothing in the hole. :banghead: so I am also trying to figure out the proper setting other than the factory settings I have been using.

If would be nice if Minelab had a School on the operation of there machines were you could get hands on. in the mean time I will keep trying and hope I get used to the different sounds/ i guess I was used to my whites quantum xt for too long. :bthumb:

Get your sensitivity off auto. Go to manual and run it up until the E-trac gets unstable. Then back it off by one or two.

In certain soils, you may want to run recovery deep off. Same with ground. If you can, run it on normal. Difficult is for really bad soils with lots of minerals.

You may also want to run with response as long or pitch hold. What you are running is ok...but I found that I like the long or pitch hold. It give me more time on a good target to make sure I don't miss it.
