New versus Old

I have heard some say that the new GT's are not as Good as the Old ones primarily because they are being made in Malaysia. TRUE OR NOT ?
I would think Minelab would not let the reputation of such a venerated detector go bad.

Ron, haven't heard that one.. only heard bout the problems with the excals, which I think they got all straightened out.
