My buddy "diggin brains" picked me up at 10 A.M. and we headed out to Ocean City, N.J. The East Coast Research and Discovery Association is having it's eighth annual Treasure Hunt. That's why it is called "PIECES OF EIGHT" We attended this event last year and had quite a bit of fun and met some really nice people so it was a no brainer to sign up again. There will be 2 Adult Hunts and a Gold Hunt, along with a kid's hunt on Saturday. Last year,, I got a real warm feeling when I watched the winner of the kid's hunt get to pick first in the prize selection. He picked a bicycle. The smile on his face was ear to ear. In addition to these hunts there will be a silver hunt in honor of Ed Mollahan. It is an optional hunt that both Brian and I will participate in. On Sunday, there will be 2 adult hunts and an optional Gold Hunt. Brian was awarded two gold items from last year's hunt. A Gold Coin and a Gold Medallion. He also won a 1 gr Gold Bar in the Gold Drawing. He ended up giving me the 1 gr. Gold Bar as a gift. When we arrived today, got super good parking and our room was ready. We walked down to the beach with a couple of homemade sandwiches. ( Mortadella & Provolone with sweet peppers and Gourmaise Mustard on a seeded Italian Loaf.). We also took our detectors for a little warm up. There were plenty of other coil swingers with the same idea already on the beach. The official Beach Season doesn't open until next weekend but the 90 degree temps had at lot of people on the sand soaking up some rays. We capped off the evening at The Café Beach Club for dinner. A little pricey but we were hungry. Tomorrow the games begin!!
