The last few times out we had prety good luck with finding a lot of clad so we went out again and hunted a schoolyard in a nearby town. This time our luck wasn't so good and after about 2 hours we only managed 26 coins......7 pennies, 3 nickels, 8 dimes, and 8 quarters for a total of $3.02. In addition to the coins, I dug a small turtle which I hoped was silver but quickly found out it was junk metal. I guess the turtle was appropriate to let me know that the finds would be coming in S--L--O--W--L--Y.
Maybe the Turtle was a sign to slow down and get to the real goodies down below the clad level.. Don't give up. I just hunted for an hour on an easement that I've hunted twice before. I slowed way down and and pulled up 2.19 in clad and a wheat(the rain we just got didn't hurt either).
Good Clad Count in my book . I like the little turtle , I found one that looks like it , clip on ear ring . Mine was junk metal too .
Thats a good count if your ask me, rarely anymore to I seem to get alot clad, but then, I hunt the woods. too_
Tortoise and the Hare,,, things are gonna pick up and get real fast again,, get ready for when that cwazy wabbit shows up again,, it's too hot right now!!!!
Things slow down sometimes, to make sure you really appreciate that Golden Ticket when it pops out of that umpteenth hole instead of a crusty Zincoln penny! Hang in there, keep paying your dues, and the gold gods WILL reward you!
That's a good clad count to me! Congrats on a nice hunt! I'll go with the turtle meaning slow and low ......
