Good morning to all, the rut is on! Went to leave town for work following my bro in law down the hwy about 4 am. He was going to fast for me so i backed off the cruse and next time i saw him he was on the side of the road. As i pulled in behind him a saw a small buck crawling thru the ditch! Bam, he was making good time:whistle: BIL is fine but truck is missing a headlight, half the grill and trany cooler. Deer died right away.

Most think the deer was crossing our road so they should probably be more cautious. Goes a lot deeper than that I think. WE have encroached and taken all THEIR land that they have eaten on and travel their paths on. We are the ones in their way not the other way around. Humans have driven a lot of species around the world to extinction so we could have a place to live and recreate. We have upset a lot of balances in nature and I think the animals are doing pretty good despite us trying to wipe them out by taking their habitat away from them. I am not a tree hugger but just think most people think the wrong way around.

This time of year you get the 1000 yard stare looking for them while driving.

Yep,, now that I'm quite a ways from NYC roads,, I'm seeing all sorts of critters that died trying to cross the road. No chickens though.
Why DID the chicken cross the road??

Because a coyote was chasing it.

Good morning. Rain sets in today for a few days. Figures, my lawn mower broke the drive belt over the weekend and I had to order another one. Supposed to come today but that will be too late. Guess I wait until the weekend when the rain leaves and my grass is twice as tall. Funny thing about it was I looked at the owners manual to get a part number and as with all my equipment I leave the sales receipt inside the cover. I have had this Toro Lawn mower since 2001. Guess the warranty expired a very long time ago. This is the first thing that went bad with it. I even got a $1.00 back on it from a class action suit. They advertised it as having 6.0 hp and someone with too much time on their hand found it only had 5.9 hp.

    At the Gun Store

Yesterday morning, I went over to the local Bass Pro Shop to get a 9mm handgun for home/personal protection. When I was ready to pay for the pistol and some ammo, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."

Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed. When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out she was referring to how I should place my credit card with the chip in the card reader!!!

As an intelligent senior citizen, I do not get flustered often. But this time, it took me a while to get my pants back on. I've been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.

They need to make their instructions to seniors a little more clear. I still don't think I looked that bad...........Just need to wear underwear more often!

It's probably all those mosquitoe bites you got. It's your ranch but running around naked is going to catch up with you.
