I talk to my sister Wendy a blood relation every few days. I talk to the other members of my family not related almost every day. My extended family is just as close to my blood relations if not closer. My father talks to my extended sister every time he goes shopping. It all comes together we are all one big family.

We have close friends our age too that call me Uncle Dave and I call them Uncle ___ and Granny. They are only close friends and not relatives at all. Glad you came back to this thread. It is still as relevant as the day you posted it originally 9 years ago.

Thanks my mother passed about 2 years ago and my other sister and brother seem to forgot about her. My niece is ready to have her second baby any day now. I'll let you know how that works out. My niece and her husband are both diabetic so I'm hoping for the best.

Funny thing about family. I am not trying to be negative. My brother is still bothered by the fact that "I married a Catholic" and I have been married for over twenty years.

Sort of sad how some can hold on to ideals that really have nothing to do with anything. Some things are important in the scheme of life, others are not.

Since joining the TQ family in 2012, I have lost a few family members. My mom and 2 brothers have passed. It was sad, but I have no choice but to accept it. Now it is basically my younger sister and me. Of course there are nieces and nephews along with my brother in law. I interact with my TQ family more than I do with them. I really understand the value of having a place like TQ. Thanks for bringing this post back.

Quaidmon, I'll jump on the bandwagon too. First, it's great to see you posting here again. Second, as others have already said this post is as relevant today as it was the day you originally posted it. TQ is made up of some of the finest folks anywhere. We share laughs, finds, accomplishments, and in times of sorrow and loss, at times tears. Folks here genuinely care about one another and offer support in times of need. There is no allowance of outright ridicule or mean spirited ranting's. ( Except for the Windman, Dig's, and Hoser). Lol Seriously, we have fun here and are here for one another, and that is much more than many blood families can lay claim to. I have always been proud to be a member here and grateful that I'm allowed to be a member.

I agree with all that has been said. This is by far the best place for folks like us to hang out and connect with one another. I have been on a lot of other forums and not one of them compares to TQ. I do want to say thank you to ya'll for putting up with my antics, although KRose, Digs and windman bring the devil out in me.

I have to agree, this place just feels like home. Great people mixed in with some good natured "ribbing"!
