Default Gizmo's arrowhead

I took the dogs for a romp down by the river today. People riding their fourwheelers had made a trail through an overgrown field. So the dogs and I walked it just to see what we could see. I noticed some flint chips and started looking for arrowheads all I found was chips none looked like they had been "worked on". Just before we got back to the road Gizmo dropped this on the ground in front of me. I have been skunked before lots of times but never by a dog. He has always been a rockhound his most prize toy is a small geode. The first pic is Gizmo ( I borrowed his name for a user name when I registered on TQ ) The second pic is the arrowhead he found. It is about two and a half inches long and one and one quarter wide at the widest. A small part is missing, but not bad for his first (Better than I did anyway) Y'all have a great day and the best of luck...Richard

Talking

Gizmo

I have a dog I wouldn't trade for anything. I felt fortunate the first time she learned "ball, food, cookie, and go for ride". When we go for a walk, her treasures are nothing I'd like to keep. How did you ever get yours to find "arrow head, and geode"? How deep does he sniff? Does he use DD paws, and has he learned to point to coins yet? Does he have an autodig feature? Must be great at discriminating junk with little front paws. How well is he on relics? Ain't dogs awesome!!

Thanks
Leo

Can I borrow Gizmo? I have a great place for him to romp and play and find arrow heads and all that fun stuff!

That is a great story, thanks for sharing.

Gizmo says thanks to each one every one. LeoinPa, he is self taught has a mind of his own I tried to teach him to find mushrooms a couple of years ago he acted like I was stupid( wasn't interested cause it wasn't a rock.) He learned so many words my wife and I have to spell what we don't want him to hear. and ERnurse if it came to a choice Gizmo or me I'm afraid sweetie would be packing my bags. (I can find arrowheads ) I caught a blacksnake in the back yard last summer and was trying to teach him to kill snakes. My wife was screaming something about not letting him get bit next thing I noticed was sweetie pumping my air rifle like crazy. After everything calmed down I said,"Honey were you going to shoot me or the snake" She answered," I hadn't deceided". So that will let you know where I stand in her priority's. Y'all have a great day and the best of luck.....Richard
