Default Hey ... Do you think I found my first point?

Indian artifacts in eastern North Carolina are few and far between. There are no natural rocks in our area (mostly forests, swamps, black dirt fields, rivers, and the largest brackish sound in the world ... Albemarle Sound. To my knowledge there have been some Indian artifacts found here such as stone ax heads, spear/arrow points, and clay pottery shards. The stone tools and points were probably obtained by trading with neighboring tribes that had access to stones about 50-75 miles to the west. The piece I am asking about today was found last Sunday while walking a white sand beach area of the Albemarle Sound. It is somewhat shaped like a point but I have little knowledge on the subject and would appreciate the oppinion of the viewers of this forum. Thanks for looking.

I do not think so? It looks to be more of just a rock? I used to do a bunch of arrow head hunting with my dad. We did most of it up in Southampton County Va. I grew up in Newsoms Va. The Blackwater river had tribes on it.

I hope you find that I am wrong, Beale.

I can see that it looks like a point but not sure from the picture. Hang on to it until someone can say for sure. JC

It is a pretty stone but I am thinking not due to lack of carving and scrape marks, and the Indians used slate and granite. I am no expert but someone here will be able to help.
