I have seen items like these before, but it was a long time ago. My Uncle Mart worked for the Highway Dept. for 22 yrs and he had a lot of this stuff all over his house. Said they found them all the time while redoing roads and bridges. I will contact Lewis Smith over here in Hunt County, Texas, and see if he can give you a heads up on these.

Cool celts,grooved ax,hammerstones

knife, point, flake blades. am not so sure about the pottery shards. what are they tempered with, flint, shell? if glazed they are historic. the design looks familier though, circles. nice stuff, grooved ax is very old.

Hey, j.d.--my granddaughter found an item in our front yard the other day that looks just like the oblong thingy in the upper right of your display--I was wondering if it might be an Indian artifact--if yours is, then hers might be(?)
Anybody know what it is--maybe a pestle?
