I'm from Northcentral Indiana myself, between kokomo and lafayette. How are the finds near the wabash? I hunt near a small creek. I know of 2 places that yield pretty good artifacts, but they aren't very numerous. Another place yields lots of artifacts, but it's been so heavily hunted over the years that most of what I find today are just broken up pieces and any whole pieces are small poor quality points.

I also hunt up north in the flatlands of fulton county. My grandpa use to farm up there and he would collect the artifacts while working his and his neighbors fields. He found some very nice points up there. I've gone hunting there 2 or 3 times, and have only managed to find a couple small pieces. So I'm still scratching my head as to where to find them at.

Got any pics of some of the points you've found? I'd love to see them!

Default Wish the weather would break.....ChickenLittle

Hello,
I have found several pieces over the years but started to get serious about it last summer. It seems that I had better luck stumbling on them than actually hunting them up. Our family owns several fields that I look in and alot of state ground nearby. To be honest with you I never thought about creek hunting until I saw some videos on Youtube. Now I can't wait until some decent weather. I live east of Huntington so I'm not that far away. Until the snow goes away I guess this is what I'll be doing.

I've never been able to find anything in the creek, I only find stuff on the hills or highground beside the creek. I know of one guy who goes noodlin' (fishing for catfish with your bare hands), and when the rivers are down in the summer he walks the gravel and sand bars and has found some NICE artifacts. I wish I lived near a big river so I could do that.

I am also looking forward for better weather.
