Cool Sunday's finds..

Was finnaly able to get out and put in some time in the fields. About time too,I was getting cabin fever. Now to get the ole detecor out and wipe the dust from it.

Did find a good mix of items from Archaic to the edge of contact. The colored items are kinda of rare for me. Our local flint/chert is black to dark grey and about 90% of my finds are of this color. The pink/white projectile and the tan stemmend piece are made of the famous flint ridge flint. Always nice to find.

Left hand pic from the top left to right,

"Meadowood??" Late archaic to early woodland - 4000 to 2500 B.P. Not sure of the ID but the time period fits the site. Any idea's or opinion's

Not sure of this one yet but can say it is a small stemmend point. Maybe a wore out "Adena Robbins" but it looks a little small for that. Will have to research on it.

"Guilford-straight base, Middle archaic,6500 - 5000 B.P."

Bottom row
"Brewerton Side notched - Middle Archaic, 6000 - 4000 B.P." A very common find for me except in the pink and white color.

Is a "Palmer,Early Archaic, 9000 6000 B.P. or a "Big Sandy ,Early to late Archaic 10,000 to 3000 B.P. Made from Chist. Another piece to research. Any opinion's?

Right hand pic from the top left to right,

"Caraway Late prehistoric 1000 - 200 B.P." A point Daniel Boone would have recognized. Pic's to it's right are the same type but just the base. A very thin well made point. A true arrowhead.

Bottom row is a very crude drill or a blank "Caraway".

The Paleo search continues..............Will post better pics Tuesday.

Anyone want to go looking? I would love to hunt ohio,Kentucky or Virginia.
Good luck as deep as ocean all.

Default Thanks!

The site will be developed soon and I hate to see it go. Found a 1892 Quarter there a few years back. Thought it was play money at first glance.
