Default Hand tools

petsel and hammerstone. dark spots on the hammerstone were polished by the finger and palm of who ever used it last. made out of common rocks from the river.

pretty nice, Tom!

I'm just curious....you seem to go artifact hunting alot. Do you hunt on your own land and fields, or on someone else's land? If you do hunt on someone else's land, do you ask permission each time before you hunt, or does the landowner care? I always ask each time before I go, but I know there are probly some farmers who don't give a hoot when your out.

And...how long are you usually out in the fields/rivers at a time? I usually go about 3 hours max, but am interested in how long others spend in the fields.

I usually find about one an hour average. But I'm just starting out, so that might change. Whats the average artifact to time ratio for you?

Default Other people's property or public land...

i only have to ask 1 time and become friends with the owners. they know me by now. I also know when to stay out of the fields, not knowing will get ya kicked out fast. I have learned who plants what, corn, soy beans etc, and in what section. I go for as long as I can go, It is a passion of mine equal to relic hunting.Have came home covered in burs many times from hunting the river bank.

as far as a ratio goes, that depends on the age of the site.
