Welcome to TQ ScubaS. How was that blade used? Was it used on a spear or like a skinning blade? I don't know a lot about the old artifacts.
Where did you find it at? It sure is cool.

Dan, I was told that it would have been for skinning the animal, its age would have been around the Wooly Mammoth period.

That is a fabulous find.
Was it on top of the sandy bottom? Or in a couple of inches of muck? You don't use a detector.......so do you just kind of grope the along the bottom feeling for items??

Riff, you fan the bottom sand and work the area by moving rocks. One of my favorite things is to feed the Huge Bass that follow you around waiting for you to turn over Rocks to reveal underwater centipede

Nice artifact Scubasweeper.......I have one that is amazingly similar.......I'm not very knowledgable on indian artifacts......a friend of mine whom I thought was knowledgable told me mine was called a grave stone....it was used to dig fire pits and graves......maybe one of these guys can help us out.....either way a great find!!
