Default Looking for a fossil GURU

A friend of mine found this.....I have seen plenty of "Indian Money" before...but none with the evenly spaced holes around the piece....Your help and info is appreciated...Thanks for looking!

It looks like the base of a crinoid stem where the roots come out.

Echo its about an inch long and about as big around as a quarter...

It sure is an interesting find, the evenly spaced holes around it has me stumped . Did you find it near the last fossil find ? Thanks for your reply George

I was thinking in the center panel of the illustration near the bottom , the section called " Nodal Columnal" maybe??? That section looks like it has horizontal off shoots coming from the vertical shaft. example " 1G' of this illustration.. Ancient Life--21--Crinoids

http://assets.cambridge.org/97805214...21450249ws.pdf You have to remember there where perhaps 1000's or even 10,000's of different variations of this species more than likely many of which where either never recorded or recorded in such obscurity that I can find a exact example.....Good luck.
