Default An Unexpected Surprise

I've been working a site that has turned up several CW pieces, so I'm afraid not to dig everything...My research and the number of square nails suggest an exsiting structure....I had dug 30-40 nails by the end of the day and was about wore out...I got another broken signal and said to myself.."NAIL"!....Dug it anyway and sure-nuff another square nail...I wiped the sweat from my brow and reached for my plug to fill the whole....I had the biggest grin...it's the last Pic....Just goes to show...Dig it all! The 1st pic has 2 items found in the same hole...appears to be a piece of a blade????

Good stuff from you sir! The point is missing the point! Haaaa!

Get out the calipers and check your cartridge against this one. Check the base or head and tell us if it has some stamp on it! With out dementions I think this one is in the ball park.

.41 Rimfire Cartridge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia could be the Henry .44 as well.

History of the Civil War

For sure it's a rim fire there are a few others it could be. Need the Dementions.

Great find! I know from my very limited experience that digging nails can be a pain. I have passed on many iron hits that could have been something awesome like your point. If I had dug every iron hit I've had in the last week my digging tool would have been worn to a nub. Just goes to show ya...dig it all.
