Cool todays short hunt

3 whole projectiles
1 broken projectile
2 pieces of broken pottery
1 piece of a broken hematite celt.

Cool The first 1 is the hardest to find..

after you cross that bridge you will find ones that are half buried and at all angles. Fall to spring is my prime hunting time. thanks 4 the reply!

so very interesting! do you know how they were fixed to the actual arrow? did they use like a mixed sort of resin to glue it and then bind them on with thread? i am just curious as to wether they did things the same as over here? fantastic finds there Tom, wish i could find something as good

Cool wet animal sinew.

it shrank when it dried. Bow came into use in the USA in around 500 AD + or -. May well have came from the UK or some other region of the world. A Atalatl/spear thrower was used before the bow arrived. The stone celts found here are identical to the ones I have seen found in Wales.

Talking grooved ax is my goal now

darn hematite seems to break easy. never have found a whole 1......yet. A nice fluted point is also a goal. going to buy a canoe to river hunt in.
