todays short hunt
3 whole projectiles
1 broken projectile 2 pieces of broken pottery 1 piece of a broken hematite celt.

The first 1 is the hardest to find..
after you cross that bridge you will find ones that are half buried and at all angles. Fall to spring is my prime hunting time.

so very interesting! do you know how they were fixed to the actual arrow? did they use like a mixed sort of resin to glue it and then bind them on with thread? i am just curious as to wether they did things the same as over here? fantastic finds there Tom, wish i could find something as good

wet animal sinew.
it shrank when it dried. Bow came into use in the USA in around 500 AD + or -. May well have came from the UK or some other region of the world. A Atalatl/spear thrower was used before the bow arrived. The stone celts found here are identical to the ones I have seen found in Wales.

grooved ax is my goal now
darn hematite seems to break easy. never have found a whole 1......yet. A nice fluted point is also a goal. going to buy a canoe to river hunt in.
