Default Finds from Jan. 3, 1977

Hello My Friends,
Just showing some finds from way back when.....Jan. 3, 1977 and I still have them. At the time I went arrowhead hunting every spare minute I could go! My Brother-in-Law (at the time) Richard wanted to go with me this day (glad he did). Since he was Unemployed, I made a deal with him on the way. If he found anything to my liking, then he would let me buy it from him and we would discuss the price according to the find. He agreed and we were looking a spot that had produced several points and broken Clay Pot fragments. I always looked the waters edge, turning around at a slick log and searched back looking closer to the ledge. I turned at the log as usual and had taken a few steps when I noticed what I thought was a Cannon Ball. As I was reaching through the Locust bushes to retrieve my find, Richard yelled out "Look what I found"! I continued reaching and was expecting it to be heavy but it was very light and I yelled back "Look at this find"! Richard came running up with his find which turned out to be a very nice Green Rock Celt (which I purchased on the way home). I had walked past it twice as it was hidden underneath the trunk of the slick log. If I hadn't let him go with me that day, I wouldn't have found it and I wouldn't have it in my collection today!
I used the celt to remove some of the sand from the inside of the Clay pot I had just picked up. This piece originally had two coffee cup handles across from one another but were broken off upon recovery. One scan shows a recent break! I've had this clay pot wrapped in newspaper with newspaper inside it and contained inside a box since the day it was found. A Friend of mine was helping me move in the mid 80's and broke off this small piece not knowing what was in the box. I still have most of the broken piece.
If and when you have time, look at the other posts I've made showing several of my other Arrowheads. I'll be posting other Indian Artifacts if of course The Forum want mind.....this will be old finds!
Thanks For Looking, Continued HH, Roger
Due To Present Weather Condition (DRY and No Rain In Sight) I Will Be Going Fishing Tomorrow!
Until Next, Good Luck A Digging/Looking, Roger

Hi raw-war-digger,

Your collection of artifacts is superb, we look forward to viewing them, as I am sure the rest of the forum members do.
Your scanning and photo skills are also top notch.
Keep up the good work and continued success finding new treasures.
Good luck fishing.

Default Thanks!

Thanks to all for looking, the comments and praise. I've been very lucky over the years and as you all very well know.....it's like a roller coaster ride with it's ups and downs! One good day makes up for all of those days you thought were wasted! Persistance is the name of the game!
Alan, I keep all my collection buried outside in various places.....don't you all do the same, just for security reasons?

Thanks, HH Roger

Hey rustycoinUT, I still have the original newspaper in the box! lol I wish I had logged my Indian Artifacts the same way I presently log! I can remember where most of the better items came from but some of the others......I have to think harder about . I'm thinking about going into that collection and starting some sort of a log to assist me in the future.....I'm getting to that age you know !

Thanks For Looking, I'll Post Others!
Back Track In The Arrowhead Forum To See Some I've Already Posted!
BTW, I Love The Pictures You Posted, Just Haven't Had Time To Post Such! Best Of Luck, HH Roger
