Thunderbird

Hello All,
I'm uncertain about this one! A Van drove up one day in the mid 80's and two men got out. Told me that they had met my brother and he had told them about my Indian Artifact collection. The back of the van was loaded down with [quote] "recently dug artifacts from the sandy areas in Arkansas". They looked at my collection and wanted the lot. I refused but did trade for this Thunderbird. I haven't a clue if it's real or had been recently made but it's a real eye catcher! It measures 2" wide x 7" long.

Thought of having it checked out by a grader!

Roger, That's a cool thunderbird. I thought that thunderbirds were used in the Mexico and Guatemala area by the Aztec and Mayan cultures. I am not shure about the indigenous tribes in your area, but if they are related in any to the cultures listed above the thunderbird could be worth a lot of $$$. If i were you I would have a profesional look at it. Either way you have one of the best thunderbirds i have ever seen.

As far as I know Thunderbird images on rocks, etc. have been seen from Utah down through Louisiana.

I only have limited knowledge on this.
But have been reading a little on it.
