a smooth rubbed site in the middle? most celts are more uniform in shape but it could be a tool.

It appears to be a pseudo specimen. It is not a fossil nor Indian Artifact.
Although it looks to be something these are quite common it a lot of deposits throughout continental US. Yours in particular appears to be roll polished an effect caused by tumbling in running water.
