Default US lithic technology

Hi guys,

I just joined tonight! I'm from the UK. I detect regularly and have collected lithic tools since I was a boy.

How do you feel about your Clovis technology having European roots??

Best regards,

Jon

Lightbulb i tend to agree and disagree

i believe some came from Asia and that some Westeren European people's followed the ice flow west. I think there was contact with western European and North Americans at some point,as a guess around 100 B.C or so. Celts found here are the same as those that are found in Wales.

Burial Mounds are very simulier and sites aligned to the moon and stars also suddenly appear with the Mound Builder culture. Ogam type writing has been found in some states from this era also.

Do you have a picture of a Westeren European Paleo projectile?

Wink European Roots?

I agree with WvaTom the roots of the knapping techniques can be traced through several cultures that made it's way to the Americas.
But do post some pics. The avid collectors here love to see.
A very informative story was issued last year in National Geographics about the migratory move and how they became more or less trapped here.
