Default Palm Rock

I found this rock which fits VERY comfortably in the palm of my hand. in fact, it is slightly curved in a couple places which makes the "fit". The center of it has "dimpling" which leads me to beleive it was used for something.
It also has blue coloring of some kind on one side. It measures 2" by 1 7/8"
My question is.
Did the Indians make any kind of "hand protectors" for maybe cracking nuts or making tools?
this thing just looks like it was made for someones hand.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions!
