That's a nice fix for a concern many Excal owners have talked about.

Thanks Ali,

Seems like a good idea but I have some questions and concerns:

If I understand, I will add this to the standard Excal shafts as it comes from the factory and install it behind the standard arm rest?

If so, how does the coil cable run? Concern is whether or not it's loose around the handgrip and armrest to the pod.

Also the description states that this is 14", is that 14" total length or installed length?

I'm also wondering if the overall length will allow it to fit into the Minelab carrybag without disassembly?

All good questions MinelabMan!!

I had to dig around for answers, but that's what I'm here for!

14" is the length of the extension rod, and we haven't tried to put it into a bag ourselves, but we're pretty sure it won't fit without some disassembly. But you did get it right, the rod goes behind the standard arm rest, adding 14" to the top of it.

You can then move the control box up behind the arm rest. As for the coil cable, we just wrapped it up and around as much as we could to get it nice and neat. Total, it took about 10 minutes the first time John (our VP) did it. He likes it better than belt mounting because you don't have to worry about the cable getting tangled or cut, and it makes swinging the Excalibur a lot easier.

I hope this helps clear things up. I'm going to have some better pictures taken of someone using it and get those on the website next week, I can see where the current pics could be confusing.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to learn somethin'!! Keep 'em comin!!
