JoAnne, This is one of the most interesting articles that I have read in some time. THANK for posting it.NOW...I THINK that EVERYONE here should click on the link that JoAnne has posted, get the newspaper address in the upper right hand corner and write to this newspaper showing our support and our concern as historians and treasure seekers that he should be allowed to dig his "small" hole and confirm his find. It's up to everyione as to what they would like to do but as for me and mine I will write to them today....PAPPY

Thanks for the credit Pappy but I did not make the original post. TJW was the one that posted the link. Thanks TJW. However I do agree with you Pappy. We should all make our voices heard. JoAnne

That is a good idea Pappy. It's sad when someone researches a site, has Kelly come in to test for gold and silver along with a ground survey and wham!

Time will tell. I do hope everything works out for him.

I was asked by another party to come to Danville, and conduct a independent survey of the site. However, without city permission it would be a waste of time & money not attempt another survey. To date, I don't think any permits have been forth coming.

It's makes good judgement that the city council should be concerned with legal, and liability issues, before they risk city involvement in a type of venture in which they have no previous experience and little, or no knowledge. Unfortunately, most officials would choose to decline such requests rather risk criticism and jepordize their jobs.

It's a common dilemma for small independent Treasure Hunters without political influence and limited budgets. Dell
