Well I dont know if you would call it fixed as i was worried that the fuel would catch fire on the hot manifold the whole way home ! I told my buddy i cant die now i got a new detector waitin for me at home !

I got the detector all together with just one left over screw ! and I'll tell ya it's going to get some getting used to,sure are alot of alien noises comin out of that thing ! But i did find all of my duct work !

Congrats on being able to get home! I bet by the end of that trip you were tired, but excited to get to putting the detector together.

As to the one left over screw. Was it a little sharp pointed screw? If so it is for the ID screen. Look on the hand hold up around screen. Should be a small hole. That screw holds screen in place.

I could not figure it out myself. Called my dealer, ( thanks John), he said he does not use it, so I choose not to. It allows you to take control box off easier.

Enjoy the X-Terra it is a sweet detector, Beale.

Default Wow!

Heck of a day to go through....but at least the detector was there when you finally made it home. The way my luck is I'd have gone through all that and found a note from the mailman saying he couldn't deliver it or something.

....and aren't you always supposed to have screws left over? Any time I put anything together I usually have several nuts, bolts and washers left over and once in a while actual parts!
