Question Help!!!

Went out detecting this morning and accidentally dug up (and broke) the wires to the invisible dog fence - anyone know of a quick fix or am I going to have to confess this one to hubby?

It wouldn't be so bad if this was the first time I'd done it...but it's the third and I think Joe (hubby) won't be as patient with me this time....

Oh - and if/when you explain this quick fix - just understand I am quite "girly" and don't understand techno-speak. Trust me - I'm the kind of gal who, after fixing the fence, will have parts left over!!

Just go to an electrical supply store (probably Home Depot would work) and tell them you need to splice underground wires, they have a tube type thing filled with a grease type stuff. Then you need those twist on things that join the wires together, do that and push it all into the tube and close the cap and re-bury it. I know, my neighbor tore up my invisible fence getting un-stuck.

How's that for non-techno?

Default Thank You!

I'm just going to take your post to Home Depot...they should be able to decipher it and supply me with all the "stuff" and "thingy's" you mentioned.

What Minelabman says...the folks in the electrical department at Lowes, Home Depot, etc...can show you what you need and how to make the repair...shouldn't be very expensive either...good luck!

Good idea, I'm glad that you asked for a non-techno cure because besides wire nuts, I don't know what all that other stuff is called anyway

Tell him. I'm sure he will get a kick out of it. Or Tell him the dog dug it up.

How funny Riki. I have done that too and repeatedly. We don't use it anymore thank goodness. I would break it each time I opened up the fence to cut my back yard. Dave was ok with it the first time but then after several well let's say he was none to thrilled. Ha. That was a few years back and I am glad we no longer use it. I hope you get it fixed, I understand totally. lol Debbie
