I got it to..but apparently had been deleted by Gregory already. My email said I got it, but it wasn't in my PM's...I was so excited that I got a new Private message (Because I rarely get one)...maybe because I hardly ever post...and dang if it didn't turn out to be a false alarm...Oh well maybe the next one will be real.

I just got the same message but today is 11-16-07? There was no record of a PM here at the site, only in my email. I deleted it and didn't open it.

The number of posts required to PM or email should stay secret and be changed a little once in awhile to be effective.

Spam is a continual problem on just about every forum .But there are things which can be done to minimize it .

so far so good ,, I never open links in emails unless I know the person and forwarded emails !! forget about it they are an instant delete !!

There really isn't anything effective against the spammers. If you block IM's then they will just post threads (like a few weeks ago). The best policy is up to the individual.
If a message is off topic in a thread, ignore it. If the off topic message is in a mail box then use an Agency classification, Burn Before Reading (BBR).
Never, but never click on a link.
As can be seen from the responses on TQ, most, if not all, of the users are smart enough to know all this. But there might be some who are not computer savvy. Virus protection and firewalls may be defeated under some conditions.
