Hi BH
We are practically neighbors!! I cannot believe how addicted I am to this hobby. I hate digging in dirt, like gardening and will not go out unless it is at least 50 degrees normally. NOT ANYMORE! I will hunt for hours on end and as long as it is at least 40 and getting up to 50 I'll head out the door at 7 am. This is so crazy. Well I guess we could be addicted to worse things. I only wish my hubby would get addicted to this too...he comes along to hunt occasionally.

lol.....it'll only get worse (your addiction) I hope you don't take this wrong, but you need to practice your retrival (digging) methods so you don't leave "scars". Practice in a field or somewhere "practicing" won't hurt. Get to the point where you can leave an area without leaving any evidence of being there.....and perhaps the Hrs. will let you search your own yard.....may be suprised what you could find. lol, a newly found gold ring could go a long way towards swaying her feelings

Sounds like the rest of us.....suffering with "cabin fever" and waiting for some decent weather to go huntin'. As a suggestion, use this "off" time to research some new spots to search in your area. But again, I'd practice before being granted permission to hunt a property & leaving it scarred.

Look foward to seeing your finds!

As everyone else said - You're completely 100% normal. In fact, if you weren't addicted, we might worry about you a little. Welcome to a wonderful hobby! Can't wait to see what you dig up and grow with you!!

I'm the exact same way, if I see a beach on some tv program I wonder what's laying around there & I'd sure like to be there hunting, my friends think I'm nuts but yes I'm addicted too!
