Default Interesting Phenomena!

I often get good signals on old iron targets that have become encrusted with a combination of rust and coral sand, interestingly the encrustation is not reddish brown but jet black. Perhaps this has something to do with a halo effect being generated by the ferrous oxide. I've never dug a gold target that didn't sound like anything but gold though, except for foil sounding targets that were find gold but that has more to do with my detector trying to read the irregular surface of a small gold find.

Cheers,

BDA

Welcome to to TQ, Todd! I used to have some good friends in Mt. Orab (years ago) their last name was McCormick...does the name ring a bell with you?
