Default Got a new knee (graphic pics)

I had a total knee replacement done on 2/22, so I haven't been online much.......lol, like anyone would have noticed

Anyway, got my staples out today & am just starting to feel like moving around alittle more. I was up walking on it the next day, but am still forced to use a walker.

There are actually videos of the surgery on YouTube, I watched one the morning of my surgery.....not something I'd suggest for anyone with a weak stomach.

Recovery is going as expected, had a couple minor setbacks, but got over those.

Smitty

Good to have you back.

That scar was actually the same one I had from a prior surgery, they just "reused" it. I have 2 other scars on that same knee, 1 on each side (and one on my left knee).

lol, I hope you're right.....I've been told I act like a 2 year-old

Seriously though, I have to come upstairs for the internet, so I haven't been online but a couple days a week.......just haven't had the energy to do much posting, hopefully that'll get better with time.

Thanks!
Smitty

I saw that surgery on tv once. They used chisels and hammers to drive the pins. I've seen them lay railroad tracks gentler than that .

Glad that you're up and moving around. Hope the rest of the recovery goes quick and smooth!

Yeah, and my hip feels every bit of it. They use drill, hammer, a jig that drives into your legbones & a sawzall to shave your bones with.

Go to youtube & search "total knee replacement".......it certainly isn't a "gentle" surgery. However, if you plan on having one done.....I suggest you not watching the video......I'm just alittle warped, was the only reason I did prior to surgery.

Thanks
Smitty

Okay, so maybe I'm weird, but that looks cool. I like how it curves around! I think I should have been a doctor or something, but I figured that out too late.

You sure do sound chipper for someone with a big ol' gnarly scar.

Orthopedists are the carpenters of the human body. They use all sorts of carpentry tools to rebuild the bones.
