I think the hooka stystem sounds really cool, RIP. I sure wouldn't invite that friend, though. If he's bold enough to say it, he's bold enough to try it and you don't want that!

What a great way to get under that water. You know, RIP, you can give me just 5 bills and I'll give you my version of that hooka. I got a nice long garden hose on my patio as we speak

Rip, not to be stupid. But I think I know what a hooka system is. Is it an air pump of sots that has a hose and mask or mouth adapter that just pump air straight to you from the shore without tanks to wear?

Yup That's it.Only they are small enough these days to were you can rig them up to float in an innertube, boat etc.The one I'm looking at only weighs 20 some pounds not counting the battery.

HOw deep could you or would you go? I don't know any lakes that I could use one in around here as they are all so mirky, you can't see you finger as it's poking you in the eye. But that sounds really cool and would give me a whole other area to hunt.

Depends on the model,The one I'm looking at is good to 60feet.I dont plan on going much more than mabey 20 feet.Visibility is a problem. On my first attempt at digging under water I had a very hard time.I kept floating backwords and the dirt being kicked up clouded the water so bad ya couldent see nothing.I did find an old ruby broach though. One of the reasons I want to do this is so that I will have new virgin sites to hunt. Not to many people dive/detect here in NY the water is allways cold and usually mirky, but thankfully there arent any critters here in NY that can sneak up on ya and have ya for lunch ether.

Yeah, a buddy of mine here was diving for a body, and ran into a catfish that he swears was as big as him. He came out of the water and wouldn't go back in.

Things can get a bit spooky down there for sure ! The trick is to not think about such things.I about wet my wet suit one time when my strap to my zipper on my wetsuite floated around and brushed my cheek.
